Most of us have heard break up lines:  "It is not you, it is me!", "I'm not ready for a serious relationship right now", "You deserve better than me" and the list goes on.   blah, blah, blah

Bet you thought I might be getting into something that happened to me.  Nope, wrong!

This is for fun...............Here is a list of compiled by Charlotte Ahlin on Bustle

Hey friends. An author I know and think is a great children's writer has a book on the Goodreads giveaway list. Check it out. I really enjoyed this book so I think adults would love it too.

Wow, it has been really hot in my area.  How about yours?  It is perfect weather to stay in the air conditioning and read.  OK, I'll admit I love hot weather but don't tolerate it well.  100 degree weather keeps me inside.

Some fun sites I've found for the summer:

20 Sites to help improve your child's literacy

Goodreads interview with writer Elle Kennedy

According to Popsugar the best summer reads and a reading challenge

What did you read in high school and have you reread them ever?  Some of the books I read during high school were:

Moby Dick by Herman Melville

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess

Dante's Inferno by Dante Alghieri

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

I haven't reread any of them but I think sooner or later I would like to reread The Grapes of Wrath and Lord of the Flies.  I read lots more than these because I took English lit and Brittish lit.  My favorite classes.

Have you fallen into the common reading trends predicted for 2016?   I'm afraid I'm just plugging along with the trend I've always read....Mystery, Psychological thrillers, Science Fiction and history.

According to Lisa Parkin, Uppercase Founder , there are 5 YA trends for 2016.  You can find her article here:  5 Exciting YA Book Trends to look for in 2016.  The article is found at Huffingtonpost.com.

Carolyn Kellog staff reporter at the LA Times, has an article in the newspaper 6 Book Trends in 2016.  Hint:   paper book sales are up!!!   and more.

There is a Q&A with Farley Chase of Chase Literacy Agency on Kirkus Reviews regarding What are some of the upcoming trends for the beginning of 2016?

Of course there are also trends in children's books too.  The Children's Book Review names 10 Kids' Book Trends.

Lots of articles to read but kind of interesting too.  Have a great weekend friends and readers.  Remember reading to/with kids will help create readers.

I want to say thanks to all our soldiers past and present who are with us and a prayer for those that aren't. Without them this country would not be free.

I'm on R.J.'s team and for a limited time only he has one of the Wurthington Diary adventures, Kindle version, for 99 cents.  This is an awesome book for kids and adults that like adventure.  Reynold Jay did a wonderful job of mixing in true history which makes the book all that much better.  Duy Truong is an awesome illustrator and the book is filled with wonderful images.  Here is the link for the book, remember it is only 99 cents for a limited time:  Buffalo Bill and the Pony Express (Wurthington Diary #6)  Don't worry that it is the 6th because it does stand alone.  At this special price though you can get a taste of what the series is like.

I found this fun article on Bustle that tells you about your personality based on your TBR (to be read) list.  I think it is way too short and doesn't include my TBR which is filled with psychological thrillers and murder mysteries................They probably didn't want to go there.  LOL  Anyway, it is a fun article by Alex Weiss The article is found here What Your Personality Says About Your Personality

Sorry I haven't posted any reviews in a while or anything else for that matter.  My laptop hard drive went kaput and I've lost tons of books and more.  Ugh.

On the good side of things I'm starting to review coloring books.  Yep, coloring books and so I'll probably start a page for that too.  It is certainly fun to get free ones.  Of course, when the lap top died I lost a bunch of those too.

I'm currently using a desk top that's on its last legs but hopefully it will last long enough to get something else.
I've always said - Computers can't live with them and can't live without them.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!
